Do People Really Get Injured on Black Friday?
Sadly, yes. While the ability to shop online has helped to reduce the number of in-store crowds on the big day, there have definitely been instances in the past where people have gotten harmed while shopping during it.
One of the most tragic Black Friday incidents happened in 2008, when 34-year-old seasonal Walmart employee Jdimytai Damour was killed during a stampede caused by a massive Black Friday crowd at a retail location in Long Island, New York.
Also in 2008, a fight broke out between a young girl and a man at another Walmart store in Columbus, Ohio, over a 40-inch Samsung flat-screen television. It was $798, marked down from $1000. The New York Times reported that the not-so-aptly-named Nikki Nicely, 19, leapt onto a fellow shopper’s back and began pounding his shoulders violently when he attempted to purchase the television. “That’s my TV!” Nicely reportedly shouted. The fight was broken up by a police officer and security guard.
The aggression wasn’t confined to just one year, either: In 2010, several shoppers in Buffalo, New York were trampled trying to get into a Target. One of the victims, Keith Krantz—who was pinned against a metal door support and then shoved to the ground—revealed that he thought he would be killed.
In an effort to promote safety, many experts recommend shoppers proceed with caution by wearing comfortable shoes with sturdy soles (so they’ll be less apt to trip); try to avoid rushing or pushing to the front of a crowd; stay alert; and above all, exercise patience and consider shopping with a friend or trusted group, so you can look out for each other.

What Kind of Wasps Do I Have?
Wasps and their cousins, hornets and yellowjackets have nasty stings that can be especially dangerous to anyone allergic to them.
Even if you’re not allergic to wasps, they can be a danger to anyone who gets too close to their nest. They will come boiling out, often in large numbers, and immediately sting any person or pet who is nearby.
While some wasp species are highly aggressive, others are more docile. Some species, like mud daubers, kill and eat other pest species, like spiders.
Since they help keep pest populations down, people can usually coexist with mud daubers (as long as they’re in an out-of-the-way place where people and pets will not disturb them).
Because wasps behave so differently, you have to identify what kind of wasps you have before you can start dealing with them.
With that in mind, here’s a breakdown of the most common wasp varieties:
Yellow Jackets
Yellow jackets are bee-sized wasps known for their distinct black and yellow markings. They are common throughout the world and particularly abundant in the southeastern US.
Adults grow to about ⅜“ to ⅝.” They live in colonies and build nests inside structures or on the ground to protect the group.
Paper Wasps
At ¾” to 1” long, paper wasps are slightly larger than yellow jackets. Their bodies are brown or black, with yellow to red markings.
They live throughout North America, and usually build their nests near the shelter of buildings. Their nests are small and only include a single layer of comb for brood rearing.
Like other wasp species, they will not sting unless they feel threatened. While yellow jackets are black and yellow, paper wasps are brown and yellow.
Hornets
There are about 20 species of hornets in the world. The varieties in California typically grow to about 1.25.” They tend to be black, with light yellow or white stripes that are more distinct than those found on a yellow jacket.
Hornets build hives by chewing wood into a papery pulp and using it to construct walls. Most nests are built on high trees or sturdy, woody plants.
These wasps are highly social, and generally will not sting unless they are threatened or provoked. When they are threatened, they swarm.
Mud Daubers
Mud daubers typically grow to ½” to 1” long. They are black, with bright yellow markings on their thorax and legs, and a long, thin body that sets them apart from other wasp species.
While they’re native to North America, they can be found throughout the world. Unlike the other wasps on this list, they do not live in colonies or build nests with other wasps.
Instead, mud daubers use mud to build small nests for themselves and their offspring. They are a generally docile species and do not swarm like other wasps.
Bees vs. Wasps
While people often confuse honeybees and wasps, they are not the same creatures. While wasps are a pest species, honeybees are a keystone species that are critical to the environment.
Honeybees are a critically important species and we do not recommend removing them from your yard or property.
Fortunately, there are a couple of ways to tell wasps and bees apart.
For example, bees are not aggressive, and can only sting once before dying. Wasps, on the other hand, can sting multiple times. Honeybees also have larger bodies and a light coating of downy hair. While both wasps and bees pollinate plants, honeybees are much more active pollinators than wasps.
The Hide My History Virus
A difficulty that almost all users who have hijackers in their computers face is the successful uninstallation of the invasive app. This is because, even though these apps aren’t real viruses, they can still be quite tricky to fully remove. For one, they often leave helper elements in the system that allow them to return after the user has seemingly uninstalled them. It is not uncommon for people to think that they have managed to get rid of a hijacker just to see the pesky application return to their browser the next time they go online. Also, you are unlikely to find an actual uninstallation executable for this program, not to mention that it will probably not be listed in the Control Panel’s Uninstall a program list, or in the browser’s extensions manager. So what can one do in order to remove Hide My History then? Well, you will learn more about that after you check out the guide posted right below this article. There you will find the necessary instructions for the hijacker’s removal – after completing them, there should be nothing left from the unwanted software on your computer. And in the off chance that the manual steps aren’t quite enough to rid your browser of the invasive hijacker, you can also try the recommended and tested professional anti-malware tool that’s linked below. Just remember to take care of this hijacker as soon as possible in order to avoid encountering any more serious risks like Trojans, Worms, Spyware, and Ransomware, because the ads and the redirects triggered by hijackers like this one may sometimes lead you to shady sites with hazardous content.
SUMMARY:
Name | Hide My History |
Type | Browser Hijacker |
Danger Level | Medium (nowhere near threats like Ransomware, but still a security risk) |
Symptoms | A browser hijacker would change the starting page of the main browser, and introduce a new search engine service. |

Better yet, use an extractor tool.
An extractor tool is used in-office by most aestheticians, so if you’re trying to closely replicate your favorite facial, it’s your best bet. To use it correctly, place the open tips on each side of the blackhead. Rouleau says to keep the tweezer body perpendicular to where you’re extracting, and keep the curved part of the tips on your skin. “Gently press on each side of the blackhead until it begins to release,” she says. “Apply slow and even pressure, and once you are able, lightly pinch the tweezers and pull the blacked out material from the skin to extract it. If the blackhead does not release easily, do not continue to attempt the extraction.”
When you’re done, gently wipe your skin with an antibacterial, alcohol-free toner like her Rapid Response Detox Toner.
5. Exfoliate regularly.
For exfoliation, opt for acids. “I much prefer chemical exfoliants to physical ones, which means turning to chemical peels and alpha hydroxy acids versus a scrub,” says Robinson. “Scrubs can cause microtears in your skin.” Keep a lookout for ingredients like glycolic acid, lactic acid, and salicylic acid.
How to Play Edgar in Brawl Stars
Edgar’s Super is a quick jump over obstacles. It guarantees a speed boost upon landing. The Trait enables the Super to gradually charge itself.
During an attack, the character throws out two short-range punches that help him to get rid of 25% of the damage. To deal maximum damage to the enemy, he needs to get as close to him as possible.
Vault can launch Edgar into the air. He lands a short distance away and gets a movement speed buff for 2.5 seconds. Over time, Vault will charge passively.
The Let’s Fly gadget accelerates the process of passively charging the Super. The rate increase lasts for 3 seconds. The charge can reach 26.4% from the base recharge of 3.3% per second.
The Hardcore gadget creates a shield to absorb damage. The shield gradually decays.
As for the Star Power, Hard Landing adds damage to Vault when Edgar lands. It results in 1000 damage as well as damages enemies in a 3 tile radius.
The best partner for this brawler should be Byron or some other healer. Thanks to them, Edgar gets higher chances of defeating the enemy without dying himself.
Black widows love dark areas
The likely hood of being bitten by a black widow spider is rare, but again if you are bitten by one immediate medical treatment is necessary.
If you do not know this fact already, the best way to keep black widow spiders away is to maintain the dark spaces you have in and around your home limited. Black widow spiders are nocturnal creatures and love living in the dark, which means the chances of you finding them in a sunny or well-lit area is extremely unlikely.
Otherwise, the best thing to do when you encounter a black widow spider unless it is inside your home or shed is to leave it be and walk away. The insects are harmless when no threats occur to them.
Use Antioxidant-Rich Products to Prevent Blackheads
Contrary to popular belief, those teensy dark spots (which tend to show up on the areas of the face most prone to oil—nose, chin, T-zone, etc.), aren’t actually the dirt-clogged pores we always assumed them to be. According to Rouleau, “Blackheads are large, open pores containing hardened sebum, or oil, that has oxidized from the air causing it to turn dark gray in color.”
She goes on to note that antioxidant-rich skincare products can help keep blackheads at bay. “Antioxidants used in skin care products have many benefits such as encouraging collagen production, lightening discoloration, and slowing down the production of skin-damaging free radicals, but one surprising benefit is their ability to prevent oil from oxidizing, hence the name ‘antioxidants.’”
What should you do if you are bitten by a black widow spider?
If a black widow spider bites you it is important to visit a medical facility immediately for proper treatment by a doctor. Make sure someone else is driving you there, or you call 911 since again the side effects from a black widow bite can be severe and leave you in a state of being that does not allow you to drive.
The treatments doctors use to eliminate the side effects of a black widow bite are antitoxin and even narcotics to relieve the pain, but it all depends on the reaction and severity of the bite. For immediate care after a bite until medical treatment is received from a hospital warm and cold compresses can be useful along with acetaminophen and ibuprofen.
How to Get Rid of Wasp Nests
Getting rid of wasp nests seems like a simple job, but it can be complex, since aggravated wasps will swarm and sting.
To keep yourself safe and guarantee good results, always spray the nest with store-bought wasp killer at least 24 hours before trying to remove it. If you still see wasp activity, spray the nest again.
Once the nest looks quiet, follow these tips:
- Approach the nest in the evening hours once you’re sure all the wasps inside it are dead
- Use a garbage bag to cover the nest
- Gently pull the nest from the tree or wall it’s attached to, and seal the bag around it
- Throw the garbage bag and the nest away in an outdoor trash can with a tight-fitting lid
If the nest is in a hard-to-reach area, don’t try to remove it yourself. Instead, contact Smith’s Pest Management to remove the nest safely for you.
Races
- Great Choices: Half Elf, Variant Human
- Very Solid: Tiefling, Aasimar
- Also Consider: Lightfoot Halfling
If you’ve been paying attention so far, you’ll know that we’re going to be prioritising any race that buffs our Charisma, with Constitution and Dexterity as a secondary choice.
We’ve chosen four possible races that are available from the D&D 5e Basic Rules found in the Player’s Handbook. The rules for the Aasimar can be found in Volo’s Guide to Monsters.
Half Elf
An all-important +2 boost to your Charisma, combined with +1 to two other abilities of your choice makes the Basic Rules Half Elf a great foundation for a Hexblade.
You also get advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep thanks to your Fey Ancestry Trait.
Also, you get to choose two skills to be proficient in from the list, giving you even more flexibility when it comes to your starting build.
This also means you’re less likely getting locked into a background that you don’t like just because you need proficiency in Stealth.
Variant Human
The +1 to all abilities that a regular human gets is fine, but the +1 to two stats and an extra feat is absolutely perfect for a Hexblade Warlock.
Some feats synergize so well with the Hexblade after 3rd level that they very much become the basis for a good deal of your build going forward.
If you used Standard Array or Point Buy (or rolled for your ability scores and didn’t get a particularly good result) you are going to want to put extra points into your Charisma as soon as you get the chance at level four.
By picking a Variant Human, you get a powerful feat at 1st level without having to sacrifice that crucial +1 or +2 bump to your primary ability at 4th level. You also get an extra Skill of your choice.
Tiefling
Once again, a +2 to your Charisma is great for a Warlock. However, the +1 to Intelligence that Tieflings also get isn’t as useful as a boost to your Dexterity of Constitution.
Hellish Resistance to fire damage, and the innate spells granted to you by your Infernal Legacy trait (Thaumaturgy as a cantrip, Hellish Rebuke at 3rd level, and darkness at 5th) are a huge bonus considering your shortage of spell slots.
Lightfoot Halfling
With an acceptable +1 to Charisma (and a +2 to Dexterity), Lightfoot Halflings have the potential to make fine Hexblades.
Although your Pact of the Blade feature gets less useful due to your size limitation preventing you from using two-handed weapons, there’s nothing to stop you from picking up a good old-fashioned sword and shield for the AC bump.
Halflings also get the Lucky trait, which means that when you roll a 1 for an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll the die, and is one of the best racial traits in the game.
Aasimar
Setting aside the irony of a half-celestial being making a pact with an ancient evil from the Shadowfell (although let’s be real, it’s narrative gold), the Aasimar’s +2 Charisma bonus and resistance to both radiant and necrotic damage are a great start.
The various Aasimar subraces also boost either your Wisdom, Constitution, or Strength by 1 – none of which are amazing, but they also give you some cool additional abilities, like being able to sprout ghostly, skeletal wings that frighten anyone near you (also based on your Charisma modifier) or deal radiant damage to anything within a 10ft radius every round.
Basically, Aasimar rule, and are definitely worth considering.

Clear Out Pores With a Mask
If you have oily skin, you’re likely a user of clay masks (PSA: if you’re not, you may want to look into them). Though clay masks are meant to draw out dirt, oil, and other impurities from the skin, some formulas can also work to clear out and unclog pores. Opt for a kaolin clay-based one meant to balance oils and give pores a major detox.
Like clay masks, charcoal-based face masks are meant to rid the skin of toxins, dirt, and oil. Because these types of masks can make the skin feel parched, Sperling recommends using them about once a week to avoid excess dryness. And always be sure to follow up with a heavy-duty moisturizer post-masking.
Key Ingredients
Activated charcoal is created from carbon-rich materials burned at high temperatures, like coal, coconut shells, and wood. In skin care, there are claims that it binds to and removes impurities from the skin, but more research is needed.
How to Get Rid of Black Widows Inside Your Home
Black widows move into your house and take up residence in dark, often little-used spaces such as the basement, attic, garage, crawl space, and shed.
- To make it easier to spot black widows, organize storage areas to force spiders to build webs in more visible locations, which are easier to treat.
- To limit web-building opportunities, keep items in storage in tightly sealed containers (which also protects your belongings).
- To protect yourself on spider seek-and-destroy missions, wear gloves and protective clothing. Gardening gloves and close-toed shoes will keep your hands and feet safe. Wear denim or some other variety of work pants.
Once black widows are in your home’s dark and little-used areas, here’s how to evict these unwelcome houseguests:
Basements and Attics
Apply a DIY chemical spray, store-bought insecticide, or pesticide wherever you have seen or fear black widows may be living in your basement or attic. Vacuum any webs you see.
Pro Tip: After you’ve spotted signs of black widows by day, go downstairs (or upstairs to your attic) at night to apply your spider killers. Black widows are most active following sunset, so you’re more likely to have success.
Garages and Crawl Spaces
Cold weather and drought drive spiders indoors, so you may see seasonal increases in black widows in garages and crawl spaces.
Apply black widow killers frequently and vacuum window frames, corners, and beneath furniture.
Pro Tip: Sealing points of entry is the simplest way to keep spiders out. Install door sweeps, seal window openings, and repair screens. Look for openings at ground level that can be caulked or otherwise closed.
Tiny Black Dots on Skin
Does your skin have small or tiny black spots? Tiny dark marks can appear in various part of your skin. Usually, they can show up on the face, arms, back, shoulders, on genital organs, inner thighs, legs or on any other parts of the body skin.
Tiny black spots on skin can occur due to the accumulation of melanin on one point or part of the skin tissue. Hyperpigmentation of the skin usually appears due to excess production of melanin pigment in the affected area.
Small dark dots can appear on the skin of anybody. However, the adolescent stage is commonly associated with tiny dots on the face that develop from acne. Blemish, zit or dark marks on the face during adolescent cannot develop into serious skin condition but it can make the facial skin look less attractive hence a beauty problem.
A baby face can also develop tiny spots on face. Baby acne caused by milia spots can result to tiny black scarring on the face of infant or toddlers. Heat rash is a common cause of tiny dark, red, brown or black scarring on the skin of children.
Tiny black spots on skin
Adults cannot escape tiny black dots on the skin. As you grow to adulthood, you are likely to develop more dark dots or patches on your skin. This is a clear reason to explain why people with advanced age have a more prominent dart dots on their body skin.
There are various reasons that can cause tiny black spots on skin. We have already discussed some of the causal agents of dark tiny marks on the skin in this post. But for more explanation here are the details that continue to focus on the causes of tiny dark spots on the skin that includes:
- UV light: sunlight is the major cause of tiny dark dots on the face and on the other part of the skin. Sunspots can appear after long skin exposure to direct sunlight.
- Age spots or liver spots: these are tiny dots on the skin that can appear due to the aging UV rays can as well cause premature age spots on the skin of young individuals.
- Insect bites: this can result to small or tiny dark dot of skin.
- Vitamin deficiency: the deficiency of body vitamin can weaken body immune hence can allow the skin tissue to develop dark marks.
Parasite Cleanse Side Effects
We do recommend you work with a nutritionist before you do a parasitic cleanse. The reason for this is that there are many side effects that come with removing anything harmful from the body.
One of the biggest side effects is the release of toxins caused by the death of bacteria and worms. When an organism dies, it releases certain chemicals that help break down the tissue and attract scavengers. It has been well documented in the medical community that large gut bacteria die off can actually cause enough toxins to kill a person.
Outdated hookworm cleansing kits have been known to cause lacerations and even puncture wounds within the gut. Removing worms from the body is a delicate process.
Mass die-offs of parasitic worms in the gut have the possibility of creating within the lower intestine. This can cause all types of issues from discomfort to intestinal rupture to death.
The very least of the side effects end up being discomfort and mild illnesses at the sudden change in the body.

Signs and Symptoms
Dark spots, dots or patches are as a result of hyperpigmentation of the skin due to the overproduction of skin pigment called melanin by melanocytes. Melanocytes are cells that produce melanin pigment that gives the skin its color.
Signs and symptoms of dark spots on the skin include the following:
- Dark raised spots like bumps on the skin
- Dark flat patches on the skin
- Tiny or small black dots on skin surface
- Large dark marks on skin of the face, neck and other parts of the body
- Dark itchy marks on the body skin
- Dark non-itchy scarring on the skin
- Painless dark bumps on skin that can bleed easily
The signs and symptoms of black marks on the body skin can vary depending on the type of skin condition. For instance, acnes on the skin can result in blackheads that are raised spots while sunspots can appear as flat patches on the skin.
When to See a Doctor
You can see a doctor over black spots on the skin if you noticed the following condition:
- when dark marks on the skin are too painful and cause a lot of discomforts
- when black dots on the skin has persisted for more than three weeks or has refused to go away
- when your baby develop strange dark dots on the skin that keeps you in worry
- if black dots or patches on the skin are becoming a threat to your beauty and health
- if dark marks on the skin are hard bumps that can bleed easily
It is advisable to visit your doctor to get help in case you notice any strange dark marks that you suspect to develop into a serious skin condition that can make your skin look less attractive.

How to Get Rid of Black Mold
Once you’ve discovered where the black mold is hiding, either by doing a thorough search around your home yourself (checking in dark, damp places, in small cracks, beneath tiles and wallpaper, etc.) or hiring a professional to check for you, it’s time to get rid of it.
1. Kill It Yourself
Below are instructions on how you can kill black mold yourself, but first:
Protect Yourself: Wear a pair of latex gloves, goggles, a dust mask, and clothing that covers your entire body to avoid contact with the toxic mold spores.
Step 1
Close off the area of the mold infestation using duct tape over vents and cracks, and close doors. You can also use a small fan to direct spores out an open window. You need to do this because spores can transport the mold to other areas of your home.
Step 2
Clean the area with a scrub brush and soap and water. Don’t scrape it dry, as this can release it into the air. Bag up and throw away anything that was infested with the growth.
Disinfectants That Banish Black Mold
The following disinfectants are antifungals that can be used to kill and prevent mold growth.
Grapefruit Seed Extract: Combine 20 drops of grapefruit seed extract with 2 cups water in a spray bottle. Spray on the affected area and let dry.
Tea Tree Oil: Combine 1 teaspoon with 1 cup water in a spray bottle, spray on the affected area, and let dry.
White Vinegar: Pour undiluted white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray directly on the area and let dry.
Hydrogen Peroxide: Spray a 3 percent concentration on the area. Leave for 15 minutes, then rinse.
Note: Bleach will also work as a disinfectant, but it is not recommended. Bleach can burn human tissue and has been known to cause respiratory problems (while also irritating the mouth and eyes).
While it can be a little more costly to have your home professionally treated to remove black mold, it is a good option if the infection is widespread or in an area you can’t clean thoroughly. Professional removers will also ensure that the spores don’t spread by using air cleaners, so if you want total peace of mind that spores aren’t spreading, this may be your option.
Lactose Intolerance
Getty Images
If you’re lactose intolerant, you’re not alone: About 65 percent of the entire human population actually has a reduced ability digest lactose after birth, according to the Genetics Home Reference, a division of the US National Library of Medicine.
This type of food intolerance causes mild to severe abdominal pain depending where you place on the tolerance scale, says Patricia L. Raymond, an assistant professor of clinical internal medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. «I advise everyone who thinks they have an intolerance to take a lactose tolerance test,» she says. «It’s not a yes or no answer because severity comes into play.» Symptoms include bloating, diarrhea, burping, gas, and indigestion and vary based on your level of sensitivity.
The solution? Skip the dairy products, like milk and cheese, and be wary of packaged foods. Raymond says packaged foods often contain hidden milk products or whey, a milk-based byproduct found in many protein powder mixes and other nutritional foods. If you’re lactose intolrant you can also drink Lactaid milk or take Lactaid pills to prevent stomach aches and pains.
How to Get Rid of Black Widow Spiders Naturally
You can fend off or kill black widows just by using items you likely already have around your house.
Strong Scents
Black widows are rumored to dislike lemon, eucalyptus, tea tree oil, and peppermint because they have a very good sense of smell. They smell through their feet, and by dispersing these powerful scents, black widows will stay away.
How to make this spider repellent: All you need is a spray bottle, water, essential oil and a dab of dish soap for your DIY spider spray.
- Add five drops of your preferred essential oil into a 16-ounce spray bottle
- Fill with water
- Add 3-4 drops of dish soap
Spray this on window ledges, baseboards, corners, and beneath furniture. Liberally spray around all points of entry, including doors, windows, or around plumbing fixtures connected to the outside.
Bonus: Although this spray functions as a black widow deterrent, your DIY spray doubles as an air freshener, as well. You can buy the supplies at most grocery stores or online at places like Amazon.
Note: Avoid using around pets or pet areas, as they can be toxic to your furry friend.
Vinegar
Vinegar is a black widow killer. Vinegar’s acidity will burn a spider’s body on contact.
How to make this black widow spray: Combine equal parts vinegar and water, and spray directly on the black widow. If you come across an egg sac, spray liberally on all sides.
Note: You can add essential oils to help with the strong vinegar odor. When diluted and handled responsibly, some essential oils are around pets and kids. A few examples are lavender, rosemary, and chamomile essential oils.
Vacuum
Because spiders rely on their webs for food and shelter, removing webs is your first defense in warding off black widows and other spiders.
Vacuum high and low to remove any spider webs; pay attention to hiding places such as corners and dark areas beneath furniture. Target egg sacs carefully, and then safely discard everything in the vacuum cleaner’s canister.
Note: Be mindful that the mother black widow rarely leaves her web, so she is likely to attack out of fear.
